The more you let go, the more things fall into place.
I mean that literally.
We only have so much bandwidth. What we give our energy to deeply matters.
From the food you eat, to the media you interact with, to the job you work, and the thoughts you explore – all of this defines us. And potentially limits us…
Who are you?
I am impressionable and want to be appreciated.
I am an artist and starving.
I am in love and running away from home.
The same way that the ocean crashes into the rocks.
Conversations with Foster about how the modern world does not care about who we are.
It is about homogenity. More appreciative of triablism than individual nuance. More interested in funneling you into comfort rather than meaning. Keeping you removed from what you need so you keep chasing what you want.
We live next to each other yet don’t know our neighbour. We work all day so that we can earn play. We look externally for knowledge, ignoring the wisdom of our bodies. We draw lines between things so that professions can be built.
This is silly…
Not violent words, just oberservations. Things to learn from friends and subtlety.
Life is more effortless than this world suggests. We should not not have to force ourselves to do anything or be anything. That does not mean we have to drop out, it means that there is a path for you that makes sense. No matter what anybody else thinks of it, you should do it.
Because when you are doing what you are supposed to be doing, life is simultaneously still and exciting. It is worth celebrating. It is hard, meaningful and makes you cry.
There is a real sense of accomplishment. One that assures you that everything beyond you control cannot be changed. And what is in you control is designable, artistic and playful.
Once again, I know who I am.
With 210km behind me, my body feels pretty good. I am excited and strong knowing there are many challenges to come. Many more meetings with Mara…
